Dear Friends,

     I write on behalf of the Parochial Church Council of Nether Wasdale Church to express our very grateful thanks to the Twinning Committee of St. Martin for your gift of 100 euros to help us repair the storm damage to the church roof. It was most kind and generous of you to respond to the initiative of Ian Davies, who is going to try and beat his father in a race from Wasdale to Borrowdale – Ian running over Great Gable, and his father driving a car.

      Three members of the group who were with WEVA until yesterday decided to add their own personal donations to our appeal fund, and as a result we have benefited from a total of £145-worth of French generosity. Thank you all very much indeed! We do appreciate your kindness!
